mindbody Balancing Facts

Q: What is stress?
A: Stress is defined as a nonspecific response of the body to any demand made upon it which results in symptoms such as rise in the blood pressure, release of hormones, quickness of breath, tightening of muscles, perspiration and increased cardiac activity. Stress is not necessarily negative. Some stress keeps us motivated and alert, while too little stress can create problems. However, too much stress can trigger problems with mental and physical health, particularly over a prolonged period of time.

Q: What may be considered “stress relief”?
A: Anything that relieves mundane stress on a daily basis, such as relaxation, can help. However, Hans Selye, a Hungarian medical scientist, was the first to use the word “stress” in connection with a picture of health wellness. His theory is that when the body reacts to stress, it creates an “alarm” response.

That means that your body is in good shape to react accordingly to any given stressor, hopefully appropriately and effectively in ways that relieve it. If the stress continues, however, an “adaptation” state may result, where we learn to accommodate or bear the symptoms of stress by adjusting to them. This can, more positively, mean creating an increase in our tolerance to frustration and moving back into the alarm state, which relieves the stress, or, negatively, reacting with an accommodating adjustment that (temporarily) alleviates the pain of the stress but becomes a new holding pattern.

If the stress continues even longer, an “exhaustion” state is created that may lead to a considerably weakened system. This alarm / adaptation / exhaustion model fits all forms of stress, whether physical, mental, or emotional. Obviously, reducing stress is a key to well-being. Relaxation helps, but how do we know where stress may be hiding in the adapted or exhausted states physically, mentally and emotionally?

With the help of the SCIO, we can painlessly and non-invasively look at reactions to common stressors and begin to piece the picture together.

Q: What does SCIO stand for and what is the SCIO used for?
A: SCIO stands for “Scientific Consciousness Interface Operation” System, which is a reference to how quickly the SCIO is able to comfortably and non-invasively obtain feedback on tri-vector signature reactions (stress information). The SCIO operates under the mechanism of biofeedback. It is a biofeedback stress reduction system. Biofeedback is the process of measuring a variable of an individual and providing feedback. Most specifically biofeedback is closely related to “stress”.

Q: Can the SCIO be used for diagnosis?

A: The SCIO is not a diagnostic tool because the results from the Xrroid Process, that appear in the matrix, are based on an interpretation of your energy and your energy is constantly changing and expressing itself in different ways. Quantum biofeedback is used to build a picture of where stresses may lie in your life and how they may be affecting you. I am looking to work with you to reduce these stresses and areas.

Q: Can the SCIO treat my disease?
A: The SCIO does not treat disease. The SCIO interacts with you as a whole person to assist and support you in restoring your well-being. The SCIO has been developed on the premise that your body has the ability to heal itself. That is why the SCIO has been designed as a stress reduction system – when the stress in your body is reduced then your body has the complete potential to come back into balance.

Q: Is Quantum Biofeedback safe?

A: Quantum Biofeedback is considered a safe, non-invasive technique and the SCIO Device is registered with the FDA.

Q: How is the SCIO set up and how does the SCIO Device communicate with me?
A: The SCIO consists of five comfortable straps that attach to your wrists, ankles and forehead, a digital interface box and PC-based measurement and feedback software. Electro Dermal Response (EDR) is the method in which the interface develops a cybernetic loop between you and the SCIO Device. This enables a double blind approach to the Xrroid Process facilitating a non-bias outcome and allows the SCIO to maintain continuous interaction with your body thus ensuring continuous monitoring.

Q: What is Electro Dermal Response?
A: Electro Dermal Response (EDR) electrically reveals reactivity, or a response, from you through the activity in your skin. These signals are communicated through the five straps that attach to your wrists, ankles and forehead and are employed through the Xrroid Process.

Q: What is the Xrroid Process?
A: The Xrroid Process takes about 3 minutes and sends over 10,000 different frequencies to your body and energy field to assess your stress. In a matter of minutes, this painless, non-invasive technology allows me to see your tri-vector signature reactions to common stressors.

Q: What happens during my session?
A: My responsibility as a practitioner is to use the Quantum Biofeedback training programs and protocols for stress reduction, relaxation and pain management. These training protocols use electrical impulses to reduce any stress that you may have. By alleviating stress and reducing pain naturally, you may be able to help your body heal itself more quickly and easily. I also provide educational materials and resources so you can make informed decisions and take responsibility for your well-being.

Q: What happens after my session?
A: During the 72 hour period following your session, the changes may be very significant or very subtle, as your system releases old, limiting beliefs and integrates new, energetic patterns.

Q: What are the benefits of reducing my stress levels?
A: By reducing stress, you can help your body do more easily what it was designed to do, which is maintain and heal itself.

Q: Are all clients’ sessions the same?
A: No. Each client’s stress reduction session is specifically geared to the outcome of the Xrroid Process.

Q: Can the SCIO be used on children?
A: The SCIO is ideally suited to children, as they are often unable to verbally communicate what they are suffering from.

Q: Can the SCIO be used on pets?
A: Yes, animals are unable to communicate with us in the most obvious of ways, although it may be apparent that they are suffering both from physical and psychological problems.

Q: Who uses the SCIO?
A: SCIO Devices are being used worldwide by Doctors, Kinesiologists, Dentists, Veterinarians, Naturopaths, Chiropractors, Homoeopaths, Acupuncturists, Nutritionists, Psychologists, Massage Therapists and many other professional practitioners. In addition, many people from all walks of life own and use SCIO Devices, depending on their own personal or professional needs.

Q: How many sessions do I need?
A: Many of my clients have a sense of well-being after just one session. The number of sessions that you would like to have is completely up to you. Session frequency is typically weekly or once every two weeks in the initial phase with the gap increasing with time. A sensible commitment to a course of sessions is five.

Q: Why is Quantum Biofeedback described in a way that is difficult to understand?
A: Quantum Biofeedback is based in Quantum Physics. Because, the SCIO is scientific and because of the nature of Quantum Biofeedback itself, Quantum Biofeedback practitioners use a “scientific language” when explaining what Quantum Biofeedback is and what it does.

Q: Why does this website contain information regarding metaphysical subjects such as the Law of Attraction?
A: Both Quantum Biofeedback and metaphysical subjects such as the Law of Attraction are based in Quantum Physics. I incorporate ideas regarding metaphysics, in the work that I do with my clients, because I know that negative thinking is the actual cause of stress.
